I may be beating a dead horse here; but does anyone remember the charachter from Soulcalibur that was supposed to be Filipino? She carried a strange bladed tonfa and her moves were in pidgin Filipino (tama buhawi, laslas hangin, etc.).
Let me just rant about how I hated this charachter. This charachter was such an affront to Filipinos everywhere. Some people have talked about how good it is to finaly have a FMA charachter in fighting games. But that's what pissed me off so royally about this charachter; she wasn't, in any way, shape, or form, except in name, Filipino. God, the game developers couldn't be bothered to even research Filipino, or south east Asian fighting. Her weapons aren't even authentic! (And this was a fighing game). And if they can be so chevalier in their treatment of the fighting aspect (which was their bread and butter) how much worse was it to have her moves in pidgin Filipino? It's like the game developers said, "we can't be bothered to google anything and we'll just make up a martial art to represent the whole lot of you. " annoying. -------------------- Aklanon swords and Arnis protective gear
