A topic was started on another thread about the forum guys here seeing each other in person. I was thinking maybe we can make it an annual thing. I guess for the members living in the Philippines it won't be much of a problem. But I think the foreign-based members will have to plan way in advance for something like this.

So I was wondering which month of the year is most convenient and feasible for people here (especially those outside the Philippines). I'm running this poll to find out. Please vote for the month you will find most ideal every year. I included the Christmas season months just in case even though I think nobody will be willing to travel to the Philippines during this season unless they're pinoys visiting home for the holidays.

Notes (please notify me for additional notes or if corrections needed):

1. The best months to go to the beaches in the Philippines is March to early May (dry summer months).
2. Many town fiestas in the Philippines are held in May.
3. Rainy season in the Philippines is from late May to July or August.
4. Typhoons can hit from around June all the way to December (that's practically half the year!).
5. Flights to the Philippines during the Christmas season have to be booked way in advance due to the volume of pinoys coming home from abroad.
6. Traffic is really bad during the Christmas season.

I personally think the best months to come to the Philippines are January and February. It's dry and the temperature isn't so stiflingly hot. As well, I think its better to go to the beaches during these two months because the hot weather hasn't produced so much algae in the water yet. When I lived in a cold climate, I always looked forward to leaving the country in February as I was always in the midst of cabin fever (its dark when you leave for work in the morning, stay inside all day because of the minus 30 temp outside, and its dark again by the time you go home) and was in serious need of some sunshine. Considering what we experienced last year, I thinks its best to avoid the typhoon season, though, most non-Filipinos I know found it exhilirating and something they looked forward to telling their friends back home about.

I think the worst and most dificult time would be Christmas time....About foreigners going there to experience typhoon time hehe I dont know anybody but for me this is exactly the time my kids had holiday here in school..So if we travel there would be sometime between July and september...
For me the best time to go (when I go alone) is as Diego says January to March....(BUt if January then form the middle of)

After living in the midst of typhoon alley for the past 25 yrs and watching the storms that form near us slam the heck out of the Philippines, I have no problems traveling to the Philippines during any time of the year.. Since the time between a month before easter to about a week later is classified as high season in airfare and travel, the cost goes up due to the amount of people who travel from the mainland us and the Philippines.. Same thing goes from the thanksgiving holiday and through the middle of January due to the Pinoy exodus from the states to celebrate the holidays with family in the Philippines.. This is also classified as highseason for ticketing purposes, so any time between or before these holidays are the best times to travel.. Plus most of the schools are out in March for the summer break.. The beaches are always there, the heat and humidity is also there unless you get up to Baguio which is like a typhoon magnet during typhoon season.. The areas north of Manila are the primary targets for these storms as they churn from the Micronesian/Marianas island areas to the Philippines..

I agree with DIEGO_VEGA, I think February would be the best time of the year.

i hope this pushes thru... mine would be november, december and january... too bad, i can only choose one from the poll. aside from having a large possibility that i will (finally biggrin.gif) be in town again, i think most OFWs visit during this time. summertime, gusto ko din yan, maraming tao sa mga beach.

sa mga nasa U.S., magkita kita naman din tayo! i think it will be good if we have some sort of saturday or sunday morning sessions.

Most Europeans working in companies will be allowed to take their longest holydays (3 weeks average) in summer time from mid june to mid september. Then the rest of the year, most of them can only take 1 week off in a row and if they are lucky 2 weeks in a row.

I would imagine that because of the travel expenses, europeans will want to stay in the Philipinnes for several weeks and not only one weeks. So for me, best month would be between mid-june to mid-september.

Regards
Fernast

maybe we could do stuff my region first like us in the visayas and then upload pics and stuff but we can use the forum to consolidate discussions, exchanges and agenda.

Off the top of my head, the best attendance we've had was on the months of February, October (despite typhoons), and November. Of the three, February is the best bet since we don't have to worry about rain as much as the other two.
